Course description

This vibrant module will provide your people with a practical understanding of how to stay safe when doing manual tasks in their job. Learners engage with five key characters to identify risks within their own job and learn the best way to manage those risks to avoid injury.

After completing this module, your learners will be able to:
- identify activities that involve manual tasks in their workplace
- define their responsibilities for ensuring that manual tasks are completed in a safe manner
- recognise the types of injury that can occur and potential consequences from incorrect performance of manual tasks
- identify manual task risk factors that can result in injury in their day to day work
- adopt strategies to reduce or eliminate the risk of injury from those tasks
- follow safe procedures for completing some common manual tasks, including lifting
- follow appropriate reporting procedures for hazards, near misses and incidents
- locate further information about procedures for manual tasks
